Released June 22, 2007 No Confidence Vote Announcement Statement
from the Omaha Symphony Musicians Organization Today musicians of the Omaha Symphony are releasing the outcome of a "vote of no confidence" in the President and CEO of the Symphony Rob Hallam. Members of the Omaha Symphony Musicians' Organization (OSMO) on Thursday, May 31, passed a vote of no confidence in Rob Hallam, President and CEO of the Omaha Symphony, citing his failure to lead the organization effectively and efficiently despite spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on consulting fees since 2003. The vote total was not reported, but musicians say there were no votes in opposition. "Symphony management has failed to move the organization forward and in some ways has set us back," said Craig Fuller, Omaha Symphony Principal Tubist and spokesperson for the musicians. "How
many "studies", "initiatives" and "task forces"
will it take for the management of the Symphony to identify what needs
to be done and then actually do it?" said Mr. Fuller. "We
need a manager who has the skills to come up with a business plan without
the expenses of consultants every few months to do the things a CEO
should be doing." -END- Submit your Comments to the Public Pulse (Omaha World-Herald)
