Originally from Portland, Maine, Adam Trussell is now playing his second season with the Omaha Symphony. He received his Bachelor in Music from New England Conservatory in 2002 where he studied with Richard Svoboda and then Gregg Henegar. While in Boston, Adam played with many orchestras including Boston Chamber Orchestra, Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and Hingham Symphony to name a few. He then moved to Houston, Texas to study with the famous Benjamin Kamins where he received his Master in Music degree in 2005. While living in Houston, Adam built a large teaching studio and played principal bassoon in the Beaumont Symphony.
Adam has participated in many summer music festivals including Blossom Music Festival, Sarasota, National Orchestral Institute, Chautauqua, Rockport Chamber Music Festival and a festival with the Danish Chamber Players in Denmark. He has spent the last five years at the AIMS Festival in Graz, Austria where he enjoys orchestral and chamber music and the opportunity to travel. Adam is also quite a good tennis player. He plays doubles regularly with retired men from the Omaha community.
